Make your own Bra Sewing Course
Duration: 4 weeks x 3 hours
Skill Level: Intermediate and Advanced
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
Pretty or practical, well-fitting bras can be expensive and tricky to find. So... create your own! Increase your knowledge, work with stretch or bias-cut woven fabrics, open a world of sewing and a new section of your me-made wardrobe in this 4 week bra making course with the wonderful, Susan from Measure Twice Cut Once Patterns.
We welcome women, men and non-binary sewists, fairly confident at sewing, to create a fitted wired bra. Multiple fit bras may need to be sewn and tested in class to create your perfect fit but we've allowed experimentation time to kick off your journey.
Attendees should have completed 2 or more garments of any kind following a commercial pattern prior to attending, to get the most out of the intermediate / advanced content. Attendees should be fully competent in operating a sewing machine, comfortable reading patterns and working on their own (see Beginners Learn to Sew Clothing first, if you don't fit this criteria). Refunds will not be available if you have incorrectly assumed your skill level for this course.
MORE DETAILS:
Walk away with a bra that suits your needs. We've compiled a list of commercial and independent bra patterns that will be emailed to you upon booking in. Choose a pattern from the list that best suits your style, underwire, non underwire, binder, plus size, mastectomy or enhanced breasts, are available, please email us any requirements so we can help find a suitable pattern. If you have a preferred bra pattern, contact us. We want to make sure you've picked something to suit your skill level and allocated time.
Most bras need to be fully finished using the actual fabrics and findings you intend to wear in order to correctly asses fit. We suggest purchasing extra fabric for your first or "fitting" bra or buying fabric with similar properties and weight for testing with.
